Every art commission starts with a conversation. We’ll talk through your ideas, must-haves, and the story you want the commissioned artwork to tell. I will provide you with an initial quote and contract for my custom art services. Once those are finalized, I make a series of quick sketches to explore direction and composition. Once we land on the right one, I refine it into a final sketch for your approval before any painting begins. During the painting process, I’ll send 1-2 progress updates so you can see the artwork taking shape, followed by a final update once the piece is complete.
To secure your spot in my schedule for art commissions, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required. Once the final sketch is approved for your commissioned artwork, an additional 25% is due before painting begins. The remaining 50% must be paid prior to delivery or shipping. Please note that shipping costs are the client's responsibility and will be calculated separately. I will provide a shipping quote before custom art services begin.
Fine art commissions consist of acrylic paintings on canvas, finished with a gloss varnish for added beauty. Our digital commissions come as print-ready PNG and PDF files. Each piece of commissioned artwork is crafted in my unique style. I do not replicate other artists’ styles or reproduce existing artwork, ensuring that all custom art services are original and tailored to your vision.
If you are commissioning a pet or family portrait through my custom art services, I’ll need multiple high-quality reference images of the subject(s). Clear, well-lit photos make a huge difference in the final piece, so I will guide you on what works best for your commissioned artwork once we start the process.
You want to love the final piece of commissioned artwork, and I want you to love it too. That's why reasonable adjustments during the sketching phase are part of the art commissions process. Once the painting has begun, I’ll do my best to accommodate requested changes within the scope of custom art services, but please note that they may come with an additional cost depending on the extent of the modifications.
All payments and deposits for commissioned artwork and custom art services are non-refundable. In the unlikely event that a work is damaged during shipping, every effort will be made to correct the damage, replace the painting, or secure a refund through shipping insurance. Hopefully, that is a bridge we never have to cross, but if we do, we’ll navigate it together.
